Day 1, Apr 2nd – Qualifying
12 rounds* of 4-player group matchplay
Tiered swiss player groupings
7/5/3/1 scoring (7/4/1 for 3-player groups)
Check in & warm ups 10-11:30am, 1st round 12pm

*qualifying will be reduced to 10 rounds if under 64 IFPA rated players attend

Assuming at least 64 players, 32 players will move to A Finals and 16 players will move to B Finals on Sun Apr 3rd

Day 2, Apr 3rd – Finals
PAPA-inspired 4-player group matchplay
3 game rounds, 7/5/3/1 scoring, slaughter seeding
Top 2 from each group advance
Check in & warm ups 10am-10:45am, 1st round 11am

Pre-registration
$10 donation to Seattle Area Feline Rescue serves as your non-refundable pre-registration fee
Remaining entry fee ($25/$40) due in cash at event check-in Apr 2nd
Waitlist will become available if needed

Additional Information

COVID vaccination record mandatory for all vaccine-eligible players
– 72-hr neg test accepted for non-eligible players
– Paper or electronic copy of record due at event check-in
CDC “Fully Vaccinated” Guidelines
– Masks required for tournament participants when not eating/drinking
– THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL STILL BE ENFORCED AT THE KITTEN CUP INDEPENDENT OF LOCAL/STATE MANDATES AND VENUE POLICIES

Cancellation
If the event must be cancelled, pre-registrants will have the option to
1.) Roll-over their pre-reg to a future rescheduled date, or
2.) Forfeit their pre-reg and
2a.) Receive a refund (option required by Brown Paper Tickets), or
2b.) Leave the $10 donation to Seattle Area Feline Rescue as-is

In the 1st round players will be grouped randomly. Subsequent rounds will use a tiered swiss system where players are grouped into match point tiers that gradually narrow over each round. Later rounds will see players closely grouped by similar match points. This system is loosely modeled on the Pinburgh player grouping process and is calculated automatically by the Matchplay.events tournament software.

Players may not pick the same bank twice

Game redraws or bank revisions due to malfunction will be chosen by the TDs for a reasonably equivalent era or style of game
